Chicago Underground Film Festival Exhibit presents: “Vital Signs and Moving Picturesâ€

In conjunction with 21 the screenings of the 20th Chicago Underground Film Festival (CUFF) at the Logan Theatre March 6th-10th, CUFF is pleased to announce an exhibition of works by artists Robert Beatty, Sam Smith, Chris Ware and Lyra Hill.  The show is focused on movie posters designed by current artists as well as a selection of CUFF posters ranging from 1994-2013. The movies rendered in poster form span from sci-fi classics such as Blade Runner (Sam Smith), Polish horror sensation Possession (Robert Beatty), recent Palme d’Or winner Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives (Chris Ware) to experimental features such as the 2013 CUFF award-winning Two Years At Sea by Ben Rivers (Lyra Hill). The interpretations are well-crafted, (dare we say) awesome and sometimes staggering glimpses into the varying styles of the artists lovingly mixed with the personalities of the films themselves.
