(Boston) Chris Brokaw’s recognition as a prolific indie-rocker started some 15 years ago. He was drummer for the NY band CODEINE(subpop) & guitarist/songwriter for the Boston-based band COME (matador). He has maintained his solo career, toured constantly, & been in or worked w/ a vast number of bands [CONSONANT (Mission Of Burma), STEVE WYNN, EMPTY HOUSE COOPERATIVE, PAY THE MAN, COBRA VERDE, GIJON, MANTA RAY, LOOG, PULLMAN (members of tortoise, bastro, brokeback, 11th dream day, ex-rex, letter e) THE NEW YEAR (members of bedhead) & EVAN DANDO]. He’s contributed to numerous recordings [THALIA ZEDEK, THE WILLARD GRANT CONSPIRACY, ROSA CHANCE WELL and MOLASSES. VIA TANIA, SNARES AND KITES, JUMBO FIFTY BUCKS, GG ALLIN…] His work has been released exstensively [arbouse, atavistic, normal, zickzack, blue rose, kimchee/acuarela, glitterhouse, sub pop, matador, rykodisc, bar/none records, touch and go, astro discos, thrill jockey…].
