Burn to Shine 02: Chicago is the second in a series of films that attempts to document bands playing live in spaces that are slated to be demolished. Bob Weston, record producer and bass player for the band Shellac, curates a daylong recording session in a small, doomed house in Chicago. Bringing together disparate voices from the music scene he calls home and creating a portrait of a place already lost to time. A time capsule of a single day, a party for something unfortunate, a small sampling of an incredibly vibrant music scene. All recorded and mixed by Bob Weston, and produced by Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty. Bands featured in this film include Wilco, Freakwater, Shellac, The Lonesome Organist, Red Eyed Legends, Pit er Pat, Tight Phantomz, The Ponys and Tortoise.
